An annual event
in Marion County (Yellville) is the Turkey Trot. You may have seen
spoofs of this type of event on the old TV show, WKRP, but this is the real
thing.
Every year in October, wild turkeys are rounded up and dropped from private
planes
over the square in Yellville. The ensuing scramble to catch these birds is
a fun
and interesting spectacle. Of course, it has a county fair atmosphere with
cool weather, great eats, parades and other events. These are some of
the pictures taken of this event in 2006. There are lots of wild
some in the wild, on our land for sale on Hall Mountain, or in any
of the state parks like the Buffalo River National Park.

The theme for the 2007 Turkey Trot was
"Drop Them and They will Come"
